This year's Battle of Yelm was the best event in many years. It was incredible to see how many Oregon folks showed up to really fill in the battlefield. As Sharpshooters, we were delighted at how well the Oregon secesh played and good of people they were to play to with. The weather was some of the best of the year, the food vendors were solid, and camp sites were great. One of the big highlights this year, has been the return of Townball. This time, the adults trounced the kids, but holy cow did those kids play so well. But winning in townball isn't what it's really about, it's one of those rare moments where all of us who love the hobby came come together, north and south, and spend some time in comradery and having a wonderful time socializing. The other highlight was the kids battle. Tom, put on Captain Whitehall's uniform and commanded a battalion of children in a most adorable battle supported by tons of adults. I don't think it would be an exaggeration to call the Yelm event the best on the schedule and folks are already dreaming and planning of an even bigger and better one for 2026. We're in the off season now, so stay tuned to our YouTube channel for more Sharpshooter and reenacting content.

Health and safety regulations often intersect with protective measures. Secure sites not only deter crime but also prevent accidents. Strong barriers, clear signage, and supervised entry contribute to compliance, worker safety, and reduced liability for management teams.
